BAK-RAK – Base
The BakRak Base fits onto any type of 50mm towball, the 2-bolt flanged (UK) style or the swan-neck, fixed or detachable (EC) style. The very clever stainless steel clamshell casting, clips over the towball, the rack is then simply slipped over the clamshell, the BAKRAK is fitted in seconds by tighten a single bolt.

The BakRak Base provides an extremely rigid 700 x 600 mm platform, which allows the transport of a very varied range of goods; washing machine, tent, invalid scooter, wheelchair, bale of hay, even your wheelie bin!

BakRak is a modular system that you can build on to give you a range of different carrier options. The BakRak Base will fit up to three standard bike-racks directly onto the frame.

The BakRak Xtender-rak [bike mount] fits onto the base and will allow four bikes to be carried and removed quickly. This also aids the rapid change of the rack for other loads. Xtender frames can be used under the other loads to allow them to be rapidly removed. The latest Xtenders are telescopic and can be extended for larger loads or to allow 5 or even 6 [including kid's] bikes to be carried on large vehicles with a high tow-ball capacity. These are used in conjunction with load-straps to tie the outer edge back to a door or spare wheel.

There is now a large crate, and a lockable plastic box, which mount onto the rack in seconds, giving the carrier the capability of a small trailer with none of the disadvantages.

If the items being carried blocks the view of the number plate or the vehicle lights then a lighting board should be fitted, locking brackets for fitting the light board are also available.
